Taurus 856 Ultra-Lite 38 Special +P Revolver, 2"

The Taurus 856 Ultra-Lite 38 Special +P revolver packs six rounds in a compact 2" barrel package. With its 22 oz aluminum frame and DA/SA action, this small-frame revolver balances carry comfort with reliable .38 Special +P performance.

Why Choose This 856 Configuration

The Ultra-Lite model stands out for its reduced weight without sacrificing capacity. At just 22 oz unloaded, it's lighter than most six-shot snub-nose revolvers. The matte black anodized finish resists wear while keeping a low-profile look.

This version uses a removable serrated front sight and fixed rear sight for quick target acquisition. The transfer bar safety provides secure operation whether carried or stored.

How It Compares to Other 856 Models

The 2" Ultra-Lite shares the same six-round cylinder as most 856 models, giving it one more round than traditional five-shot snub-nose revolvers like the Taurus M85. Unlike the 3" barrel versions in this line, this configuration prioritizes concealment over sight radius.

Compared to the Executive Grade or Defender models, this Ultra-Lite has simpler sights and a basic matte finish. The aluminum frame makes it lighter than steel-frame 856 variants while still handling +P ammunition.

What to Know Before Ordering

All firearm purchases require shipment to your chosen FFL dealer for transfer. Check your state and local laws regarding revolver ownership and concealed carry permits before purchasing.

The 38 Special +P chambering offers more power than standard .38 Special rounds, but always verify your ammunition choice matches your revolver's specifications. The 1:16.5 twist rate handles most common bullet weights effectively.
